Lead Sheeting & Plates
Lead sheet (sheet lead), lead sheeting and lead plate is used in radiation shielding applications, including hospitals, veterinary and dental clinics, and medical laboratories; in construction, such as waterproofing, flashing and roofing; for sound proofing and sound barriers; as a vibration absorber; in nuclear energy shielding, and for use in movable lead screens, to name a few.
Lead sheet (sheet lead) and lead sheeting can be easily formed, shaped, cut and/or bent for use in a broad range of applications, due to lead being the most malleable of all common metals. With little effort, lead sheet (sheet lead) and lead sheeting can be easily shaped without the possibility of work hardening. The lead sheet (sheet lead) and lead sheeting supplied by ABM Lead is very resistant to corrosion from salt water, the atmosphere, as well as most industrial chemicals.
Lead sheet (sheet lead) is ideal for use as a sound reduction room material, lead lining tanks, and as a replacement material for metal flashing in roofs. Other advantages of lead sheet (sheet lead) and lead sheeting include its flexibility and high density, which makes it perfect for use in shielding chambers or rooms from gamma radiation as well as x-ray radiation. Lead sheet (sheet lead) and lead sheeting is used in a wide range of construction components, including cabinetry, walls, window frames and doors where protective shielding is required.
ABM Lead provides lead sheet (sheet lead) in a variety of thicknesses and sizes. Lead sheet (sheet lead) and lead sheeting is manufactured to consistent standards, and conforms to various ASTM (American Society for Testing and Materials) specifications.
