Lead Ingots, Counterweights, Castings
ABM Lead specializes in a wide variety of lead fabricating processes, including lead ingots, lead counterweights, and lead castings. Some uses for lead counterweights include elevator weights, lead sash (window) weights, test weights, stage and theater weights, ballast lead weights, aerospace counterbalance weights, cable weights, and curtain weights. Other applications include monitor boom weights, divers weights, crusher weights, boat keel weights, flagpole weights, and race car weights (ballasts). Lead's unique combination of high resistance to corrosion, malleability, and high density allows for a versatile range of uses.
As mentioned previously, lead ingots, lead counterweights and lead castings have a wide range of uses in a variety of industries, including scientific laboratory applications, automotive, construction equipment, marine, recreational, and environmental equipment applications. Lead counterweights are typically 40 percent heavier than their steel counterparts, allowing for lead counterweights to fit in smaller spaces and have lower centers of gravity than steel. Another advantage is that the resulting smaller space taken up allows flexibility as to how lead counterweights can be positioned.
ABM Lead provides lead ingots, lead counterweights, and lead castings in a variety of forms, shapes and sizes. Lead ingots, lead counterweights, and lead castings are manufactured to consistent standards, and conform to various ASTM (American Society for Testing and Materials) specifications.
